Being a true rural course you may have to share your visit with a few sheep at times..
With the Tararua Ranges as a backdrop and only 1.5km from the township of Shannon, Buckley is a natural, undulating 16 hole course (with 2 holes played twice from alternative tees) featuring meandering creeks. Unsuspecting golfers need to watch out for the crocodile on the 5th hole.!
The club was established in 1936 and was originally in Buckley Road before moving to its current location in Engles Road. Whilst membership is small, a willing team of volunteers continue to ensure the course is well groomed.
